Blue-bike

Blue-mobility nv is a Belgian value driven company, established in 2011 and strives to reduce the number of car kilometres by offering more then 2.800 qualitative, robust and comfortable shared bikes at more then 125 locations in Belgium; the Blue-bikes. The Blue-bikes are located at so called Mobipoints, where train, tram or bus stops are located. The Blue-bikes offer a last mile solution and thereby strengthen the public transport network. For 10 years Blue-mobility has been offering a worthy alternative to the car in combination with the train, bus, tram or shared car. The shared bike project was started in mid-2011 by the national railway company NMBS holding, since 2018 De Lijn (regional public transport operator) is the main shareholder of Blue-mobility. Blue-bike is supported by local authorities. Ethias is the commercial partner that also provides free bicycle assistance for the Blue-bike user, which is unique in the shared bicycle market.
